Spotlight on Hoxton
Hoxton is a diverse area in the East End of London, north of The City forming the western part of Shoreditch located in the Borough of Hackney.
Hoxton has managed to retain its identity and spirit throughout the years, and is now seen as one of the trendiest places in London. It has great transport connections with Hoxton Overground station and Old Street tube station situated nearby and excellent bus services. Shopping and Entertainment
Since 1687 Hoxton has been home to Hoxton Market, the oldest street market in Hackney. Known for its quirky feel, Hoxton Market is a welcoming place consisting of street stalls, galleries and Hoxton Hall. Local popular bars and restaurants include; Trapeze, White Lyan, The Blues Kitchen and Red Dog Saloon.
Just a short 15 minute walk from Hoxton Square is Brick Lane, one of the East End’s largest flea markets. Brick Lane is known for being one of London’s best places to eat, thriving with tourists who come to visit the markets antique and vintage stalls.
Parks & Commons
Refurbished in 2011 Hoxton Square is a traditional London garden square that was originally intended to make as much green space for residents and visitors. It has now become the heart of Hoxton’s art scene and can be seen booming with local entertainment.
Walking distance from Hoxton is Shoreditch Park, home of the annual Shoreditch Festival. The park consists of football and rugby pitches, tennis courts, beach volleyball court, amphitheatre, an adventure playground and TFL cycle hire docking station.
Shoreditch Park also provides free group exercise classes which are led by fully qualified and insured instructors.
Hoxton has its very own Overground station with direct trains to Clapham Junction and Dalston. Located 15 minutes from the centre of Hoxton is Old Street tube station which is situated within zone 1 of the Northern line. There you can find direct services to London Bridge and Camden Town. You couldn’t be better connected into central London.
